3.Cross Functional Activities

-Provide engineering inputs for planning and execution of planned process unit T&Is for projects

-Participate in the Incident Investigation meetings and ART teams for process units and facilities

-Provide guidance and technical support to Departmental Strategic Trainees.

4.Project Management/Engineering

-Directly manage large/more complex/critical projects. Implement justifiable projects after obtaining Company approvals

-Prepare detailed specifications and designs. Purchase long lead engineered replacement instruments & systems.

-Review designs carried out by Designers.

5.Engineering Support

-Review relevant Lessons Learned from Engineering Projects and Incident Investigation Recommendations, Propose recommendations for solving identified problems and prepare detailed Engineering designs

-Manage unit T&I Project/Support activities through concerned Project/Support Engineers. Participate in Front End Engineering & Design of small engineering projects

Opportunity for a Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant to join our developing multidisciplinary team.

Key Requirements

BEng, BSc or higher technical qualification in a relevant subject (geology, civil engineering, environmental science etc.) Chartered or be working towards Chartered status. At least six years of relevant experience, ideally gained in ground investigation,interpretation risk assessment and reporting. The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with good analysis and technical capability in MS Office. Experience of AutoCAD, environmental risk assessment tools and modeling software and geotechnical assessment and modelling would also be desirable.

Job Description

Design and management of geotechnical and geo-environmental assignments including (but not limited to): desk studies; Phase 2 ground investigations; human health, groundwater and gas risk assessments; factual and interpretative reporting; and preparation of Remediation Options Aprasials and Method Statements.

Review factual and interpretative reports

Project management, client liaison, preparing proposal documents and invoicing

Preparing and approving Health and Safety documentation

Provide geotechnical and geo-environmental advice and assistance as required on an ad hoc basis to a variety of clients, including house builders, main contractors and project managers. You will also negotiate and liaise with relevant regulatory authorities as necessary.

Working knowledge of British Standards, regulations, Eurocodes, Industry Guidance and NHBC Standards, and a thorough understanding of human health and controlled waters detailed risk assessment methodologies.

Provide advice and mentoring to more junior staff within the team, as well as advice and assistance to members of other teams.
